After over 3,400 hours of demanding use and more than 15 years of service, The Pickering Auxiliary Rescue Association twin Volvo Penta D4/DPH drivelines had well exceeded their expected lifespan. It was time for a repower—and Volvo Penta’s new G-series engines paired with the upgraded DPI outdrives proved to be the ideal replacement solution.
The repower package included new transom shields and updated mounting hardware. To accommodate the new systems, several custom fabrications were required, including modifications to the engine mounts, upgraded trim units, and revised intake thru-hulls.
To modernize the helm, we also installed a full Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit system, providing integrated engine data and advanced control in a clean, user-friendly layout.
